The Canadiens were the dominant team throughout the series, winning the first three games at home before dropping Game 4 in New York. They then closed out the series with a 4-1 victory in Game 5.Carey Price was brilliant in goal for the Canadiens, stopping 135 of the 140 shots he faced in the series. He was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as the most valuable player of the playoffs.
Phillip Danault led the Canadiens in scoring with 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in the playoffs. He was a key contributor on the team's top line with Brendan Gallagher and Tomas Tatar.
The Canadiens' victory is a great accomplishment for the team and the city of Montreal. It is the first Stanley Cup win for the Canadiens since 1993.
