The CSUN women's basketball team was picked to finish ninth in the Big West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

- Other key returners include guards Jordyn Jackson and Annaiyah Pettaway.
- Jackson averaged 9.1 points per game last season, while Pettaway chipped in 6.7 points per game.
CSUN also welcomes a talented group of newcomers, including freshman guard Kayla Jones and junior college transfer forward Jadyn Johnson.
- Jones was a standout player at Bishop Montgomery High School, where she averaged 18.5 points per game as a senior.
- Johnson comes to CSUN from Eastern Arizona College, where she averaged 13.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Outlook
The Matadors have a lot of potential this season, but they will need to improve their consistency in order to be successful.
CSUN has a talented roster, but they will need to find a way to replace the production of last year's leading scorer, Deja Williams.
If the Matadors can do that, they have the potential to be a surprise team in the Big West this season.
